Our Events: Books, Brews & Conversations 📚☕

At all of our pop-ups and socials, we’ll be selling a curated selection of new and second-hand LGBTQ+ books. If you have any queer literature looking for a new home, please bring them along to donate!

The Nofela team will be on hand to answer any questions about our progress as we work toward opening a permanent bookshop, cafe, and community space in Swansea.

🌈 We want to hear from you: What would you like to see in our permanent space? What sort of events do you need? Come and have a chat with us—your feedback is what builds Nofela.

Pride Cymru

Join us for a fantastic weekend celebrating pride! The Nofela team will be running our bookstall packed with new and secondhand LGBTQ+ literature across both days.

Summer Residency at Urban HQ

We are incredibly excited to announce our summer residency running from 1st July to 31st August 2026! Come find us in the foyer for community vibes, reading, and creativity.

We will be running a variety of literary workshops including creative writing, zine making, and D&D sessions. Our usual bookstall will be set up with a brilliant selection of new and second-hand LGBTQ+ books, and we will be happily accepting book donations throughout the residency!

Book Swap Social with QueerTawe

3 April — Urban HQ

A brilliant joint collaboration with QueerTawe focused on community building and sustainable reading. It was a wonderful afternoon spent trading favourite titles and making new connections within the community.

We returned to Elysium with the Queer Book Club Swansea crew for another evening of art, drinks, and fantastic queer literature.

Gower College Rainbow Week

23, 24 & 25 March — Llwyn Y Bryn, Tycoch, & Gorseinon Campuses

We recently had a fantastic time taking our pop-up stall on the road for Gower College’s Rainbow Week. The energy was incredible, and we were so warmly received by the students and staff. Even better? We sold £200 worth of books! Seeing so many people excited about queer literature makes it all worthwhile.

Our second visit of the month to Elysium, providing a curated selection of books for the Queer Book Club Swansea members and gallery visitors.

14 January — Coast Cafe

A lovely morning stall held alongside Sadie's Butterflies. It was a pleasure to meet everyone and support the local trans and non-binary community in such a welcoming space.
